Certification

Veterinary Cannabis Guide (VCG)

Veterinary Cannabis Guide (VCG) - Open for Enrollment!
Picture
The VCG certification is ideal for non-medical professionals interested in understanding the endocannabinoid system and the cannabis industry.  A VC Guide works with the rest of the veterinary medical team (including Veterinary Cannabis Counselors, VCCs) to help animal caregivers interested in administering cannabis to their animals.

VCGs understand the developing cannabis industry, evaluate products to safety, guide the implementation of a cannabis administration plan, and help ensure that a pet parent’s decision to utilize cannabis in their animal is complementary to the veterinarian’s ongoing treatment protocols and recommendations.
Is this certification right for you?
The following are essential characteristics in a Veterinary Cannabis Guide (VCG):
  • Intellectual potential to implement scientific rigor into cannabis-related topics
  • Ability to analyze and problem solve in this new veterinary cannabis industry
  • Communication skills & excellent rapport-building with animal caregivers
  • Communication skills & excellent rapport-building with the veterinary team
