The role of a VCC is to support the veterinary team in the rapidly developing veterinary cannabis industry.  VCCs receive training in utilizing their medical background as veterinary technicians to create a cannabis administration plan that is safe for the animal, maximizes medicinal potential, and most important, is complementary to the veterinarian’s ongoing treatment protocols and recommendations. 

​VCCs can provide pet parents with accurate veterinary information while keeping the veterinary team fully informed of all changes in that pet’s medical treatment.  ​

Course Requirements


​Students will earn a Veterinary Cannabis Counselor (VCC) certification after successfully completing the following:
  1. Attend six 2-hour LIVE webinar sessions (attendance at every webinar is required), webinars occur every 2 weeks
  2. Participate in forum discussions throughout course
  3. Successfully pass a Written Evaluation (due within 30 days of completing webinars)
  4. Complete 6 Case Studies​​ (due within 6 months of completing classwork)​ ​​
